First stop and Crossing Long Island sound to Mattituck Inlet

Left Portand and made a short trip to Hamburg Cove…Tom and Mary Bond our Mainship friends we stopping there as the leave for their 35 day trip up to Lake Champlain and Canada…We took a nice long dinghy ride and then a nice relaxing dinner.

On Tuesday we headed out for Mattituck Inlet on Long Island…calm seas and a cool day made the trip easy. The entrance to the river has cool old fishing boats, marinas , a nice restaurant and beautiful homes We walked into town so Jay could get some plumbingIt was a wonderful quiet night and lots of  shore birds

Casting off the lines

I once read ——-Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t  do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe  harbor. . Explore. Dream. Discover.

Off we go tomorrow morning on our northbound Canada waterway adventure.

Another Bon Voyage party

Our friends from the marina had to have another party…after all it is “the party dock” We drove over for the day and had a nice boat ride down the Mystic River, which we will really miss after 25+ years of boating there. Then off to the pavillion for a pork roast dinner with all the traditional dock party stuff. It was great to see everyone again but the farewells were tough.Lot’s of food as usual….We have the best friends!!!
