Yesterday was officially my last day of work….a bitter sweet day for sure. Champagne with dinner last night and a most wonderful gift from our daughter and son in law…the gift of music!!!!!…Sirius radio for a year and ipod downloaded music too…what could be better???…

Now it will be full speed ahead to get the boat ready and close up the house for our summer travels. Jay is done on June 8th then we can do the finishing touches and take off. Pictures and stories will follow.

 A couple weeks ago our dear friends arranged a surprise party with our marina friends, a close friend that we haven’t seen in a while and even our children…….that is when I cried!!!

It was so nice to see  everyone and knowing they gave up their boating time made it really special.

Special friends are rare and we have many.  We will always remember this special day.

A  wonderful gift so we will be able to find our way home to our special friends and family.

After a nice walk on the beach we came back to this beautiful sight. The full moon over our boat and

the famous Block Island building the Sullivan House on the hill behind us….I couldn’t resist the

photo op.

We have been talking about traveling in our boat for about 10 years now. On July 8 we are retiring and shortly after will leave to travel to the Trent-Severn Waterway in Canada. We plan to take our time and enjoy the Hudson River, Erie Canal and the Thousand Islands as we go along.  We are now preparing the boat and making list of things to do before we leave. This trip is going to be about 3 1/2 months so there is quite a bit of preparation.
